The 2009 Oz Flight Sim Expo was held at "The Block" in QUT's Creative Industries Precinct in Kelvin Grove, Brisbane.
Despite the global economic crisis that had a dramatic effect on both the number of visitors and exhibitors, it still did not deter 800 people from walking through the doors to marvel at the technology that's available for recreational flight simulation.

Mike Goldman, of Big Brother fame, was celebrity MC at the event. Logitech proudly sponsored the event, in which one lucky visitor scored the new G940 HOTAS flight control system.

Paul Colmer, founder of Music4Film featured his new album "Chasing the Dragon" in conjunction with a dramatic demonstration of the VRS F/A-18 Superbug for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. RAAFvirtual were buzzing the venue in their F111s and PC9s, along with the KA50 Black Shark and F-16 tactical demonstrations by the 62nd Fighting Falcons and the Virtual Australian Air Force (VAAF).
